We've recently started to teach kids with the use of Aidlab (https://www.aidlab.com/developer) to show them some basics about heart, lungs or motion data. They are able to measure themselves, develop simple apps thanks to Unity engine, and make use of those data (ex. building games that use respiration level to control game character).
What we've tested with our platform (https://www.aidlab.com/developer) was to reach out as many as possible local geeks/hackers and ask them to play with our device. We stopped coding, manufacturing, prototyping etc for like 2 months, just to show our poor designed, glitchy prototype (it was far far away from the MVP).
So we have presented them what's going on inside in-depth, what are the possibilities, and what are we currently struggling with. They were really eager to help - some of them actually bought the product so we had both: market validation and great feedback.
Currently, it could help with stress reduction, recognizing heart illness or overtraining detection. It's also an "open" device. Open to communicate with, and open to create apps full of health information for anything that supports Bluetooth 4.0+. Soon, I'll extend Aidlab with simple A.I module and gesture recognition, so mobile phones or the smartwatches will not be mandatory.
