My wife is thinking of putting together a program for the Sociology department she works in. If you are an employer would you have use for these skills?
She is trying to create a Certificate for Bachelor holders, as well as a Masters in Social Research
They already have courses on :
Social research methods
Social statistics
They want to develop courses on:
Data management and analysis with an emphasis on big data
Survey design
Research funding
Qualitative Methods (interviewing and focus groups)
Program evaluation
Software packages used would be Stata and SPSS. R is not used much in the department.
The intent is to create a path that is relevant to the current employment market. Any input is welcome.
