Because a man's genes have a better chance of carrying on when the mother of his children is primarily focused on his children and not on her business. Duh.

A better question, with a less obvious answer: why is an article from Daily Mail on news.yc front page?

# Rich women wants: single attractive AND rich men.

No wonder why they have a hard time finding a partner.
