There is a lot of inertia in the system, but US tech would be half the size without international customers. We've really slammed the door on our dick and the pain is going to be obvious.
I bizarrely (perhaps naively) believe that it will be good for the US in the long term. I think that we have coasted on our favored status for a long time and competition and consequences will help fix that.
