I would expect significant power savings on HDR displays, especially higher-end models with zoned backlighting. I'd expect moderate to light savings on global-backlit devices with backlight powersaving/contrast enhancement enabled. I'd expect zero to negative savings on global backlit devices with powersaving/contrast enhancement.


Funny, besides preventing eye strain, I thought it saves battery on my iPhone 13 mini, which uses an XDR OLED display. They'll have to continue the same experiment with OLED displays like they mentioned


I never thought about the power saved. I use it to save my eyes.
