[flagged] I was blocked from the Sass repository
1 point by _78go 17 days ago | hide | past | favorite | 16 comments
Since the Sass project has became political which is a shame, I was pointing out that they violate their own community guidelines, which resulted at them blocking me, marking my PR as spam and blocking me from contributing to the Sass project. I'm kinda ashamed for this, this is unfortunate that they don't even explain, just going the easy way and blocking

Unless you intend to tell us what you did that got you removed, most of us are going to assume it was your fault. On top of that, you contributed your time to a product you don't own; if it was an Open Source project, at least you could continue contributing on your own terms with a fork.

You deserved the block. Make constructive contributions, or you'll be condemned to making none at all.

Don’t you think that the project owners are obligated to the code of conduct they wrote themselves? Why should I contribute if the project handles this way?

You don't have to contribute, it's a privilege and not a right. If you feel like this is a dealbreaker, fork it and make your own Sass repository with blackjack and hookers.

What's next, do you have to remove the donation request from VIM's startpage to be satisfied?

If you don't make meaningful pull requests and repeatedly spam a repository with non-improvements then you should be ignored. You dug this pit for yourself by not creating helpful PRs.

You’re comparing a request for donation vs a calling for genocide?

Yeah, and if the developer of Minix knew his software would be used to develop American surveillance systems, he'd cry tears of blood and beg for forgiveness... not.

For one, you're not complaining about actual calls for genocide; you're childishly conflating a solidarity statement with something unrelated. You will be rightfully ignored every single place you go, with that attitude. May as well start opening issues on Microsoft's software, asking them to stop using Open Source software as the backbone for modern American weapon exports; you will be ignored, because much like the Open Source community you detest, Microsoft is staffed by professionals that cannot be bothered to care about your hurt feelings even when they're on salary.

For two, all free software is liable to be used for genocide or discrimination by nature of it being free. People know this, and contribute in spite of that. The reason is that proprietary software is also used for genocide and discrimination, while free software enables a populist approach to consuming and developing software. If your complaint was anything other than a whining distraction, you'd fork the repo and make a statement about it; but you can't. Your only intention was to disrupt constructive development, a fork headed-up by you is only liable to be more political in nature.

So grow up. Stop whining because somebody supports something you don't, it's the sort of childish behavior that degrades your professional reputation in the long-run. There is absolutely nothing genocidal about expressing support for the hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians that are currently starving due to disproportionate response from a nearby satellite state. Patch up your hurt feelings and find some better use of your time.

That's a very convenient excuse to ignore my well-reasoned response, eh?

Just don't bother responding to it. People like me are a scourge on the emotionally insecure.

[flagged]

If it were at all obvious how I was wrong I'd expect you to point it out. Are you afraid of being wrong?

[flagged]

You're the only one here with a green name.

[flagged]

Is that what the project leader told you after reading your PR?

[flagged]

...which is not the color they are on 4chan.

Do you want to respond to my original comment now, or are you just going to spend your time trolling and proving how non-serious you are?

Get a life bro. You're the troll. I won't waste my time on trolls

[flagged]

I'm the one vouching for yours, actually. Your comments are getting erased faster than I can respond to them unfortunately, looks like your window closed for responding to my post.

At the same time though, I don't know how you expected people to take you seriously here. When you're that desperate to conflate peaceful protest with "genocide", methinks you're insecure about something you're unwilling to admit.
