The timing of this post makes it seem quite relevant to Apple blocking Beeper from iMessage. Too bad the headline doesn't mention it explicitly because I don't expect this story to hit the front page with this boring headline.
Despite the post not containing the words "Apple" or "Beeper", quotes like "The FTC will closely scrutinize any claims that competition must be impeded to advance privacy or security" are on point and the post is chock full of them.
I was trying myself to come up with a title that didn't editorialize the words Beeper or Apple into it but was still catchy enough to hit the front page. But I didn't come up with anything. If some journalists write articles about it with catchy titles then maybe those will pop up here.
Surely there are always problems in the market, but this post seems too close a match to the Beeper situation in both timing and wording to be a coincidence, especially considering the legislative attention it has already attracted. Which other recent "claims that competition must be impeded to advance privacy or security" might have prompted this post?
