Ask HN: What are the best communities to talk about AI advancements?
5 points by topoftheforts on March 22, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 2 comments
I am getting more into AI and I'm looking for communities where I can keep up with the latest advancements, and talk with fellow developers.

I am a member of some Discords, /r/StableDiffusion and I follow some Twitter AI people. Anything else you would recommend?

There are multiple StackExchange sites that could be of use to you:

https://ai.stackexchange.com

https://datascience.stackexchange.com/

https://stats.stackexchange.com/

As with all SE sites, not good for open ended discussion, but a fine resource for asking targeted questions.

There is also the Discord server[1] for the LAION project[2].

And don't forget Papers With Code[3] and OpenReview[4] either.

And depending on your exact interests and what-not, you might also find some value in joining AAAI (Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence)[5].

I look at abstracts from here

https://arxiv.org/list/cs/new

I am more interested in the run-of-the-mill results people get as opposed to the cutting edge because what the run-of-the-mill researchers do, I can do.
