Perhaps he wants to reintroduce the "right of the first night" too?

BEGIN SARCASM

Given the number of partners and children he has / has had [1], and his personality, it is only a matter of time before he establishes a sex cult to begin building a population of genetically engineered superhumans suitable for conquering Mars.

END SARCASM

Seriously, if your employer has beds at your workplace it's not because they care about you. You are either putting in unhealthy hours, they expect your work-life balance to be almost all work, or there are some questionable relationships at the workplace.

Leave while you can.

I used to be a fire fighter. We worked 24 hour shifts. We had beds.

Does your blanket statement apply to drink machines, coffee bars, snacks?

Having worked on production at film sets and concert, yes.

The reason production folks keep the green room stocked is to keep people on location.

You can't have the drummer or key grip wandering off because they need a snack because they may be needed. That' the entire point of having crafts services.

While I am thankful that people are willing to fight fires, it's also true that the reason you have that stuff is to keep you on location just in case their is an emergency, not because of some deep care for people doing work.

>I used to be a fire fighter. We worked 24 hour shifts. We had beds.

That's bad. I feel for you. In a decent society fire departments would have the resources, personel, and good mind, not to overwork firefighters.

As for the parent making "blanket statement", I think making a totally irrelevant to the domain niche counter-example is slightly worse...

You don't understand the nature of firefighting. Hours, even days of boredom, punctuated with adrenalin-filled sprints. Rarely overworked, but pushed to the limit as needed. If we didn't love it, you couldn't afford us.

That's how it works in monkey troops.

I prefer the plural for a group of monkeys: Barrel

Sadly, the monkeys all died
