For better or worse, "X has died" is some kind of standard on HN: https://hn.algolia.com/?q=%22has+died%22



The main issue isn't the title as such. The issue is that the title misleads about the content. The title suggests it's a death announcement, which you would expect to give details such as cause of death and a biography of the person who died, not to mention official confirmation from a reliable source. But the content is just some random person on Twitter being sad about the death, which was announced elsewhere.
