Why touchbar, why. :(

Please die already.

I will never understand why they introduced it on a professional product in the first place, let alone at the cost of the physical F-keys.

Now that I think about it I probably never would have cared about it's existence if they could have fit it in above the F-keys and left the keyboard completely alone.

I hope it is optional. Touch Bar has to be one of the worst inventions in user interfaces.

It's more modular and has decent integrations with a wide variety of apps

Make it opt-in! I'm happy for users that like it but it would lower the sticker price and make it more useful for those who don't.

I know Apple isn't known for offering LOTS of differing models of products but ffs we've been screaming this since 2016.

Well the marketing materials for the 2016 MBP would have been awkward without it.

- Better performance.

- Slightly thinner.

- Worse keyboard.

Surely you opt in by buying the single fucking device that Apple sells with this feature instead of any of the others which don’t?

The problem is that the entire "Pro" line is reduced to a single fucking device

F-keys don't have decent integration with apps since...forever?

A lot of programs have great F-key support. Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop/etc. in particular made full use of them with the default shortcuts.

this is the only macbook pro model with a touchbar

the 14 and 16 inch M1 models do not have it

the 13 inch just got the refresh and is the only one still with it

The touch bar is an instant no deal. Might as well skip it all together, until the Touch Bar is totally removed from the MacBook Pro line-up.

How exciting. I ordered my M1 Mac Book Pro in January. I think its supposed to ship on the 13th of June. We'll see. Maybe they'll send me the M2 instead? har har. That's ok. I don't want a touch bar. In fact, this seems like a step backwards, apart from the M2 itself.

I wonder if in two years this model will get an M3?
