Ask HN: Can you recommend full featured HN iOS app?

I use Octal and love it for the simplicity and interface. However, commenting is a bit buggy (have to kill the app to see new replies) and notifications are absent.

Can anyone recommend a full featured (ie not read only) app for HN?

I’m hoping for minimalistic design, functional comments with notifications and search. No ads, can be free or for purchase.

I use HN all the time with the web site on an iPad and find nothing wrong with it. It works fine on Amazon Fire Tablets too but my Samsung A7 struggles to boot, never mind do anything at all.

Granted people are amazed that somebody who writes long articulate comments makes such terrible spelling errors and typos but that tends to happen if you write into a little text box on a touchscreen. A better spell checker and UI for posting might benefit me, but it might need an A.I. highly tailored to me and what I write.

It looks ok on iPad but I read it on my iPhone most of the time. Native app feels a bit more polished on the phone.

I've been using a lot of HN iOS clients, but Octal stands out as my favorite so far. Love its simplicity and settings interface. No ads, but not sure about notifications.

I’d recommend— “Hack”. I use octal and hack and switch between them frequently. Back is very polished

Thank you! I think it checks all the blocks. A bit strange main screen but that’s so not an issue.

What are you looking for out of an app that the Web site in a mobile browser doesn't give you?

More polished UI, I suppose. Notifications would be nice too. I just vastly prefer the feel of native app.
