Well you certainly don't want to strap a machine gun to a real dog; they have trouble with aim (depth perception is limited) and once they discover they have power many go mad with ambition and attempt to take over the feed store.
Seems like it would be mostly effective for killing people who are asleep, or for intimidating innocent people. Don't like the idea of this thing wandering into my house when I'm having a kip. That said it doesn't seem like it would have much of a chance in an active fight with an alert and armed human being. Deeply fucked up though
I always assumed that these sorts of machines wouldn't be cost efficient and that it would be more economical to produce suicide bomber rc cars and flying bomber drones (both already in use IIRC)
I'm also unsure of why they gave this actual legs instead of tank treads (cost efficiency again and also less points of failure and less complex machinery)
From the picture it looked more like a walking gun platform.
Saying that, if I was a downed airman in hostile territory or in the middle of an inhospitable desert I wouldn't mind having one of these little guys along with me.

Of course, the guys sent to hunt you won't mind having their own to increase their search coverage and firepower.
