So it shouldn't be a surprise that if there is query-able surveillance some police force will use it, even if they are legally disallowed to. Why isn't it the case that the FBI just can't every query these NSA databases in any way, they have no access? The US is never going to give up on spying on the whole world, and I can't believe congress will ever care enough to even try to stop it. It would take even more major abuses than the last 10 years have given us.

The FBI adopts the practices of the NSA and CIA with regards to information sharing and the policy base on privacy, information access, and responsibilities on how to handle it, among other things. I'd quote the document but i don't have a copy and i dont think anyone cares anymore anyway
