> Nevertheless, we feel obliged to point out in terms of quality assurance that a DIN 4271 manhole cover may not be installed on a roadway, as shown in the game.
Apart from that, i have flagged this post. That topic is not really news worthy for HN. While it's funny its probably born out of corona lockdown boredness and some specific german gamer humour in light of some more serious bugs in cyberpunk.
Sorry, then. In my defense, that was just my opinion (also i'm obviously german) and I find the topic of regulation of manhole covers not that novel (that stuff is abundant over here and the DIN number is imprinted in each of them). PS: the concrete filling is to increase its weight (apparently not enough in the below incident) on the cheap compared to using steel.I once whitnessed how during a heavy storm a sewer surge pushed one of these out of its hole at the bottom of a hill and what serious hazard that created for motorists in the middle of that main street. You're right that this stuff is rather nerdy and that standards around it are interesting.
Cyberpunk 2077 features at least one DIN regulated manhole cover. However, there is a severe error that popped up on a popular discussion forum of experts for holes for men.
As stated here, the German DIN (like the ISO but far cooler) mandates that manhole covers on the street need to be of durability class D400 (for 40 metric tons) instead of D125 (for 12.5 tons). This oversight should be fixed immediately to ensure the playability of this game.
Surely a subtle indication of the general decaying state of civilization in Night City. If players fail to read anything into the outraging ability to purchase alcoholic beverages in some cyberpunk dive bar without getting age checked at the door, perhaps some misapplied imported manhole covers can make them realize.
Yes! That manhole error is the tipping point! I cant play a game that has so many story elements covering 50 Hours + gameplay and when i drive down a street for 60 seconds it totally breaks down my life experience.
Also way worse then the Vectrex graphics, at least it featured 3d glasses, and Cyberpunk is so repetitive, unbelievable!
It's German humor, it's no laughing matter.
