Many of the best careers are ones that have a fairly high degree of specialization and an official and well recognized track for certification.
Grind hard to meet all of the official certification requirements and do your best to immerse yourself in the body of knowledge. Usually this results in a long career full of flexibility and good pay.
Examples:
Actuaries.
Consultants.
Lawyers.
Professional Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, etc).
Auto Mechanics.
Paramedic.
There are tons of them off the beaten path if you look for recognized certifications.
Also look for quality of life not prestige. There are plenty of great "blue collar" positions with good pay and work life balance.
