I write code on weekends and after-hours. I've found that in order to build trust with clients and stay on top of new opportunities, I need to be responsive to emails. Product development is a little slower, but since I coded the entire platform, it takes relatively little time to roll out updates. As for work/life balance, I work from home with my wife and daughters and regularly take off an hour here or there. Not for everyone, but this works for me.
