If you're a student in higher education then it's a free download via Lean Library (if your education establishment is a subscriber to the service).

You still go to the store for your groceries? How quaint.

I'm going to go out on a limb and bet the vast majority of people do. For the typical person going to a supermarket with a car where they can see what is available and looks good just isn't a big task--especially because you usually have other errands to run in a given week.

Not sure, but I'd more than welcome a "God, please make it stop!" emoji ...

So, Sting was wrong and Roxanne just had bad eyesight?

Strand Games have remastered some of the original Magnetic Scrolls games (The Pawn, The Guild of Thieves and Jinxter so far) for modern PCs.

IIRC 'feelies' was a term coined at Infocom by Brian Moriarty for the extra gewgaws that wound up in the boxes. I don't think the term was used much elsewhere in the industry, even though it did become part of the general gamer vernacular at the time.

I should ask some of the other Infocom folks one of these days. I imagine one of them remember.

My go-to audio CD ripper is this: https://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

Agreed. I mean, great that people make alternatives, but this was a solved problem long ago. Also EAC is a lots more user friendly that some python software.

User friendly is a matter of opinion.

Not sure, but they've really been active the last couple of years in language training and collaborative development. Plus, I happen to think their IDEs are probably the best out there (despite their relative complexity).

Been a happy user of their IDE suite now for many years, and IMHO, nothing else comes even close.

Nothing, but nothing, about the Daily Mail constitutes _real_ news.

The Daily Mail is merely repeating a local article: https://www.eltribuno.com/salta/nota/2018-3-22-0-0-0-sergia-...

No it is not “merely repeating”. That article is extremely different from the Daily Mail’s version.

Given that I dislike being around people in general the pandemic has been fantastic for me in that it enabled me to work from home, and I've now managed to continue that with my current employment contract which has my permanent place of work listed as home.

Overall, not having to commute to the office (and pay for trains, fuel, lunches, etc) is saving me over £8k/year, and I still have the advantage of being able to go in when needed (such as if there's a social planned for the evening or suchlike).
