We use rocket chat in uni to communicate with team members for project, I think it is good enough for this purpose.

In the firm I made my internship, we have to use German in every communication. I use DeepL to check my E-mail or help me write speech for the presentation, etc (not a native speaker). The translator is wonderful!

I think it's perhaps small font size + serif + low resolution. Serifs can improve readability at times.
