Well hopefully amazon will push enough of them to the brink of extinction that they to will innovate or suffer the fate of negative selective pressure.
In that case you are going to find that you quickly lose your best devs. I'm not saying that resume building should be even within the top 5 priorities, but you will want to at least keep it in the back of your mind. It's a balancing act.
Otherwise the solution is to crunch-time people into oblivion and and quickly replace them when they burn out. Not exactly sustainable
Don't know anything about PhysX, but I'd imagine they would. I'd also imagine that they'll start building in support for their cloud based physics as used in the upcoming Crackdown 3
cloud based physics?? That is an oxymoron, physics is something happening right now, there is no room for latency due to streaming from the server, unless you want rubberbanding.
On the flip side, if you were a customer and said developer was purposely scheduling unknown length tasks once every 10 minutes, knowing full well that this would happen, how long would you remain a customer?
