I agree. I dislike GPL and would never use GPL for anything that I open source. All the npm modules I've developed are MIT licensed.

But if a corporation chooses to violate the terms of someone who did release their stuff under GPL then they should pay for it.




If nothing else, nothing is going to encourage corporations to prefer permissively licensed code if copyleft licenses aren't strictly enforced.
