There are plenty of women who fit into this culture and have no problem with being easy-going because they know that this behaviour has nothing to do with discrimination or low opinion of women, it's simply nerdy silliness.
The reason why jock/macho type cultures should be suppressed in software engineering is because they end up being fairly exclusive cultures which engender and reward levels of masculinity.
Many companies (possibly correctly) hire and fire based on perceived culture fit, and if your is less accepting of anyone who doesn't fit your slightly macho mold, then women will find it harder to get a job.
This means that such working environments should be thought of as unacceptable, yes.
Obviously there are different levels, but yes, a culture where it's acceptable to make crude sex jokes on the job would deter many of the women I know.
It's just a joke doesn't cut it - especially when you extend that to 'any joke'.

You start your comment saying "fuck suppressing people", which says to me that you're against censorship, and then you talk about the "easily offended". Those two aren't compatible, you either don't suppress people, running the risk of offending anyone, or you only suppress everything but things that would offend the "prude people".
