Ask HN: How can visually impaired kids learn to code?
1 point by tarr11 on Feb 14, 2015 | hide | past | favorite
I run a program teaching kids to code, and we use a lot of tools that preclude visually impaired students from learning (such as MIT Scratch, etc).

I've been recently if there are tools or programs that visually impaired students can use to learn to code.

A google search reveals professional programmers can use tools such as described in this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/118984/how-can-you-program-if-youre-blind

Unfortunately, nothing much comes up for kids learning to code.

I'm wondering if there are any projects out there that can help younger, visually impaired students learn to code?
