I don't really understand the first part. So you contacted them, and they agreed to correct it, and you're angry they didn't notice the problem and correct it ahead of the report?
However, yes, I too would balk at the offer to give them more money for "faster" internet when they cannot deliver the current "slower" internet you're already paying for. It is pretty ballsy for the CS to even ask, but I suppose they are required to.
I think you're pretty quick to dismiss the local DSL provider. How bad can they really be? Keep in mind that review sites only list negative experiences, and I bet you can find just as many Comcast negative reviews as them.
I spent an hour and a half to get it resolved. I was upset about them telling me that it's my responibility to ensure I get what I paid for. It seems like I'm paying to do that.
Also most of the bad reviews of the local dsl have been from people I know, and yes I'm sure comcast as has many bad reviews.
My options are to have a terrible exerpience with really slow internet or to have a terrible experience with maybe faster internet... It's partly my fault for living here though there are pros and cons to living in small towns.
Right... I'm very confused by that first paragraph. The whole "sooner" thing seems to be lacking context. Sooner than what? What was that reply in response to? This reply seems to add new information, but hasn't really clarified what you were trying to say earlier.
"Sooner" should have been drawn out into a new sentence. That sentence should clarify that I was not entitled to be upset about not getting the appropriate internet speed in the past several months, because I had not complained about it sooner.
I feel like you have some strong experience in this area. As a consumer, the communication I got about a new modem is that I should get one because better things will happen. I was not told my speeds would be dramatically and they would refuse to provide the service I was paying for. I probably would have switched sooner if they had.
