So you'd say UUCP support is the reason for sendmail being 'un-Unixlike'? Isn't UUCP, you know, like the historic essence of Unix?




No, the un-Unixlike part is having so much functionality jammed into one binary.

The Unixlike solution would be to have multiple servers, each speaking one protocol (or thereabouts), and then you'd only install what you need.
