Ask HN: Where is the who is hiring thread?

Usually it's at 9AM no?

The bot is "whoishiring" so I have been refreshing the search page all morning:

For me that thread is generally the first thing that points out a new month has started, so I didn't even realize it was August.

I'm not sure what that says about my priorities.

It looks like it's dead, for whatever reason: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8119683

That one wasn't posted by whoishiring. Someone saw that and killed it, but didn't feel the need to make sure the whoishiring one was posted

Users rightly killed it with flags.

The whoishiring bot has been posting these staunchly for four years. We can be patient if it sleeps in every now and then.

It seems the bot did not create it automatically so I took on myself to create one, but for some reason it's out of the front page.

> I took on myself to create one

Please don't. It results in a race condition for karma, and we don't want that. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html

Same question for Freelancer/Seeking Freelancer.

Another question is "how come this is not an internal function of HN?".

Also where is 'Who wants to be hired'?

Is today not a "workday"?

if there are such tight stipulations on that thread then ops should be responsible for posting and moderating it.

I've seen it on weekends, so I don't think that's the case. I just think that the bot has some issues this month, that explains why the "Who wants to be hired" is also missing.

the bot doesn't do "who wants to be hired", thats a community effort.

I believe that thread has been botified as well now.
