Chute is the most comprehensive visual brand engagement platform on the market today, powering everything from billboards to banner ads to native mobile apps with user generated content about brands. We believe the future of brand marketing is visual and our tools to manage, measure and drive engagement have become essential for brand marketers. Chute works with some of the world’s biggest brands and publishers including NBC News, Turner, Condé Nast, the NBA, New York Times, Taylor Made, Samsung and House of Blues Entertainment. We’re based in the SoMa district in San Francisco, minutes away from Muni, BART and Caltrain.
Position
We are seeking a strong writer and media relations expert to join Chute’s marketing team as a Public Relations Manager. This role requires 3-5 years experience, preferably with an agency or tech startup.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a news/pitch calendar
- Write press releases, compelling media pitches, white papers and contributed articles
- Pitch press briefings and create all materials needed for tours, including briefing sheets, presentation materials
- Build relationships with advertising and marketing reporters at key trade publications, including AdAge, AdWeek, PRWeek
- Create and maintain speaking and awards calendars, as well as submit co-founders for appropriate opportunities
- Support company events, including the annual Visual Revolution Summit and smaller salons at other ad/marketing tradeshows
- Work closely with peers, as well as product team and exec staff on messaging and content creation
Skills and Knowledge
- 3+ years of experience in a communications / PR role at a digital agency, consulting firm, or SaaS company
- Voracious reader who is always brainstorming pitch ideas for the company, its founders, products, etc.
- Proven track record of media relations
- Excellent writer with a range of writing experience, including contributed articles, speaking abstracts, pitches and press releases
- Writing samples required
- Experience with Cision and MuckRack a plus
- Flexibility and willingness to learn quickly
- Self-motivated, and must enjoy getting your hands dirty
- Outstanding oral and written communication ability, including presentation ability
- Excellent project management skills
