Gary Kovacs stepped down last summer, does this mean that Mozilla has been without a CEO for almost a year?

What it means that Brendan Eich has probably been fulfilling the CEO role for at least 6 months or so and this announcement is most likely just a formality due to everything running smoothly.

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this announcement, but then I realized I've actually been quite happy with what Mozilla has been up to for the past year or so, and I imagine that's been under a lot of influence from Eich.
