The swarths of pure white just left of center indicate the problem exactly. These are not some ideal perfect American dream-land.

Follow the graph and one might think Nebraska, the Dakotas, Iowa, Minnesota were some kind of dream land.

The graph measures who gets to the top quintile (1/5). Yet the article only mentions quintile once, in nondescript passing.
