Recently, I've been seeing an influx of new social news sites being created, largely due to the ease of deployment and configuration of Telescope (http://telesc.pe). I've actually been working on building a social news site from scratch for a particular venture I'm working on, and I've considered using Telescope. Then I found Lamer News, which had a lighter code base, and allowed more customization from the start. I'm thinking of moving my project to one of the two, which one would you suggest?
Right now, I'm thinking Lamer News due to it using something established like Ruby/Sinatra and having good performance as compared to something based on Meteor that isn't even 1.0 and depends so heavily on Javascript.
