Ask HN: Why is Facebook's ticker still broken after an update?

After Facebook took the ticker down yesterday, I was expecting that they'd iron out the bugs. Instead, the ticker is still broken: if you have chat turned off (as I always do), it won't update in real time and will only do so if you refresh.
