The "pain and annoyance" of learning Ruby? Just what language were you trying to learn exactly? We all have different experiences when learning new languages but this is the first time I've heard learning Ruby described as painful and annoying.
I agree with most of the points in the article and the ultimate conclusion. I'll take a Rails app running in one process and EventMachine (for asynchronous Real-time features) app running in a separate process over my API and Real time elements running in one Node.js process that will most likely be leaking memory.
