GetGoing makes it easier and more affordable for leisure travelers to discover and book their next trip. Our existing products are focused on providing the industry’s most innovative ways of searching and booking flights – what BBC has recently called “a website that will change the travel game in 2013” -- and we are now expanding by launching a new hotel booking platform powered by our proprietary Guaranteed Upgrade™ technology. GetGoing is a Y Combinator company backed by the founders and/or largest investors in Groupon, Facebook, AirBnB and Twitter, and we are based in San Francisco, California.
About the Role
We are looking for our first hotel team hire, to lead hotel supply acquisition for the initial launch of the Guaranteed Upgrade™ platform. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant contribution to bringing a new product to market.
Requirements:
- An MBA with prior experience in and/or interest in a strategic business development role.
- Passionate about / a subject expert on the hospitality industry.
- Track record of achievement: must have a degree from a top school and/or a record of progressive promotions and quantifiable success in a sales role.
- Must be entrepreneurial: know how to execute the day-to-day details of the job, but also think strategically, spot opportunities, take risks, and not be afraid to raise your hand and speak up / suggest a better way of doing things or an innovative approach to a seemingly intractable problem.
- Must be a self-starter who can work well with others: you value the opinion of your team, but you can also prioritize and manage your own schedule efficiently, with little hand-holding or supervision.
- You are analytical, and can provide our hotel partners with reports, analysis, and advice on how to improve their performance and conversion rate on our website.
