Why asking different appl. questions while answers could be interchangeable?

When reading P. Graham's comments on the selection process, it's pretty obvious that he is looking for genuinely ingenious people above all. And even the startup idea serves only as a manifestation of one's hacking potential. And here comes the application form:

1. Please tell us in one or two sentences about the most impressive thing other than this startup that each founder has built or achieved.

2. Please tell us about the time you, kohfake, most successfully hacked some (non-computer) system to your advantage.

I understand that you want me to prove that I'm not a next door Joe Doe. But why asking essentially the same twice? It only adds confusion. If you need a lot of examples, you could just say it in the first question.

And frankly the question “Please tell us about an interesting project, preferably outside of class or work, that two or more of you created together. Include urls if possible.” although refering more to the founders' collaboration experience is yet again about standing out of the crowd.
