It is true that they don't have the resources in their natural state, but it is extraction and use of those resources that causes the problem. Letting the resources remain in their natural state is the solution!
Here's the thing: Resources aren't extracted just for fun. It is only done so to serve the consumer, and those consumers are disproportionately young-to-middle-age adults. Not using resources is the only way to combat this. That is fully within their control.
