Which in practice you will never ever do...

I guess you could rent a trace track to give it a try, but yeah ... Supercars are more for posing than being very practical. Bughatti Veyron tire life at top speed is 15 MINUTES.

And for anything else, it doesn't matter. My RS 5 might take 7:55 around the Nordschleife, versus a Model S Plaid at 7:35... but when the Tesla pulls in after its lap for "thermal throttling", the Audi will just ... keep going. I think the last time I got bored and curious, at 130mph and a full tank of gas, the Audi will just keep going for about 200 miles before needing the gas station. The Model S will get ... 75-80.

I love adrenaline, and a 2s (or less) 0-60 time is exhilarating. But a 3s isn't much less fun, and on a commute, is not practically any different.

You're probably not a car enthusiast. Most people with performance cars love going 0-60mph, at least here in the USA.

That's your conclusion.

I drive in traffic and I care a lot more about handling than I do about 0-60 which you rarely if ever will do without a car in front of you.

This guy at least concerned about other people's safety (no car in front), if not his own.

I'd rather my performance car takes significant winding ocean roads like its on rails, than my BIL's performance car which by his own words (and both our experience) is "significantly sloppier and a lot more hair raising".

And then I get the joys, living near a base, of 19 year old E-2s with base Challengers thinking they have a "performance car" and constantly wanting to race me.

Exactly. Straight lines are easy and boring.
