I would put good money on the flying demo one being a custom lightweight version.

I’ll take that bet.

There is absolutely no way that you'd keep a vehicle that heavy suspended for more than a fraction of a second with the size airtanks shown.

Sounds like you know more about RCS than SpaceX.

The one that flies has two COPVs- watch the top gear video

No, I can do basic math and gravity is a constant.

Again, you’re saying you understand RCS and gravity better than literal rocket scientists.

but doesn't his karma farming count for something?

Where did I say that? All I am saying is that this vehicle is a gimmick, it will never work in practice. Wake me up when it does.

We already have videos from many credible people that it does.

The negativity and nay saying on HN is next level.

Do you say the same thing every time McLaren/ferrari/bugatti/porsche announce the new hotness?

No, they usually deliver what they promise and they don't do demos that are rigged.

People are allowed to criticize things, and many of them are valid criticisms. Personally I'm a lot more interested in what SpaceX is doing in...space. I don't really care at all about this whole flying car thing because who does this really benefit? Pretty much nobody if you think about it.

This is nothing new.

Who does the Bugatti veyron benefit? Or a super yacht? Or 3000 other things.

Right, I don't care about those things either...

If you don’t care, why are you commenting on a thread about the exact thing you’re saying you don’t care about?

This is a discussion board where people discuss things.
