Social standing in other workers' eyes? I can get that by knowing what I'm doing and telling the truth, even if it's not the management line. (I mean, that doesn't mean that I badmouth management all the time. That's just a whiner, and nobody but other whiners likes to be around that. But when someone needs to tell management the truth, I don't have much of a problem with being the guy who does. I'll speak for the room if they need me to.)
