I specifically remember Shrek 1's DVD menu was a work of art and nearly a complete multimedia experience on its own.

It's ironic that the author chose the much simpler/inferior Shrek 2 DVD menu to showcase.

There was something really cool on the Shrek 1 DVD - if you put it into a computer, you could use a little tool called "Revoice Studio" where you could record voice lines for a few different scenes from the movie and then have the scene play back with your revoiced audio. It was a ton of fun!

Yes! My siblings and I used to play on the menu before the movie started. We'd excitedly cheer and laugh when we got the pigs to talk.
