Or are tired of the hyperboles and straight up lies. Will you hand over your bank account to an agent? Can it grow food and sew clothes?

If it can't yet, it will very soon. In less than five years probably.

And what is justifying such belief?

Extrapolation of the extreme AI progress we have seen in the last few years.

My 3 month old son is now twice as big as when he was born.

He’s on track to weigh 7.5 trillion pounds by the age of 10.

There’s nothing proving that this technology won’t be an S curve growth like every other before it.

AI is not limited to the rigid construction plan of an organism. A model also doesn't have to fit inside a small skull or be limited to the daily energy intake of a human.

> AI is not limited to the rigid construction plan of an organism.

This is some AI psychosis shit.

Explain how you think extrapolating off of 4-5 years of growth(I’m being generous here) means the development is asymptomatic instead of reaching a plateau like every other aspect of physics.

Are you one of those people who believes Anthropics claim that they will have the revenue of the entire United States yearly for their IPO?

You ignored my previous explanation.

Which previous explanation did I ignore?

The only one I saw upon review was

> Extrapolation of the extreme AI progress we have seen in the last few years.

I don’t think that’s a viable extrapolation hence my mockery about a 3 month old being trillions of pounds by the time they were 10 years old.

If there was another explanation please let me know so I can evaluate it.

That is not an explanation of how this technology won’t follow an S curve and can just be extrapolated out for infinite growth

The growth is not infinite. It will stop at technological maturity, with the maximum intelligence allowed by the laws of physics.

We haven't seen any significant progress at all, much less extreme progress. You still can't use these stupid slop buckets for actual useful work, despite the massive amounts of resources being wasted on them.

You are being delusional. LLMs are extremely good at programming and mathematics, as well as many other tasks.

With an actual good programmer at the wheel, so it’s like saying SO is good at programming or GitHub is good at programming.

This analogy doesn't work. There is a material difference between SO and Github and a machine that can talk to you and understand you.

You may claim it doesn't understand you, then I can say, fine... a machine that perfectly and indistinguishably imitates a response made by an intelligent being that understands such that a difference cannot be measurably detected.

reality as we know it
