Show HN: Draft an all-time XI and simulate a World Cup run (perfectworldcup.com)

I built this game because I saw the 82-0 NBA game on X and wanted to see two things:

a. How easy (or hard) it would be to make something similar for a different sport and

b. How I could improve on what I saw as some UX opportunities in the original game.

I was also genuinely curious to see what happened if you landed up with the likes of Maradona, Pelé and Ronaldo on the same team (spoiler alert: its no guarantee your team will win depending on who else is on it).

The most surprisingly hard parts were getting the result screen right, making the results sharing experience smooth and adapting the UX to the mobile experience.

if you try it, I'm most interested in your feedback on whether the results seem fair/make sense or not (and if not, why not).

The swap is not working. And what is the number next to the players name during selection? Maybe sort the players available by their stats. Scored 7-1, lost the final 1-0.

Did both swaps not work for you or just one?

Trying to figure out why that would even happen - it works fine in my testing so a bit confused as to how to even troubleshoot.

And the number next to the player is their OVR or Overall Rating. It represents a player's combined skill attributes. It's calculated from weighted base stats (shooting, passing, defending and pace) that are displayed under their names.

Trying on free play, swap is working now (wasn't before) but there is still a bug or maybe that is how it is supposed to work: Swap country and era in the same turn the first swap will be reset.

Ah I see it now - thanks! Fixed it.

Also added an OVR label next to that stat by player names.
