What happened is that governments successfully figured out how to police the internet. Except for Tor. For some reason though, we're still not layering everything on top of Tor.


I don’t really think libera has or has ever had that kind of ethos or aesthetic. It is used by a lot of serious people and projects that are not directly involved with copyright politics and have no interest in cosplaying as ThePirateBay.


the 150,000 or so people who still actively use IRC networks absolutely have a major crossover with these.
