This saddens me. The view, despite its negative press, has helped countless housewives broaden their scope of concern from gossipy soap opera nonsense to current events and domestic politics. While they may not be good educators, they are moving the needle. It used to be unladylike to talk politics, at least for the uneducated class. Now we have daytime tv populism.
