On: Quickshell – building blocks for your desktop

Now I need a tool for quickly destroying widgets, doodads, animated boingos, and general visual noise, from my desktop.

That's achievable in multiple ways. A standalone window manager for example. KDE with all widgets removed and "do not disturb" mode should work too, but I haven't used KDE in a long time.
