I stopped treating Mac OS as a Unix and I started sleeping at night. It’s a great platform for running a Unix in a VM.

Perhaps what you mean is that the definition of what it means to be a UNIX has changed for you and you prefer to run UNIX-inspired or UNIX-compatible systems.


I think "certified unix" is meaningless to most people who use "a unix".


I think a lot of people who use "a unix" just use "a linux"


It helps not to mistake UNIX with GNU/Linux, as first step into tranquility.
