Reports like this scare me deeply, but that's because I understand more or less what it says.
But, yesterday, in an effort to understand the Trump voters, I visited Fox news for the first time in my life, even if my knowledge of USA politics is low enough to confuse the 2 parties. I literally could not believe what I saw. That site is written for morons. There are no second order effects, and barely first order effects. It has rough meme-level content, that's it. And it attracted enough voters to turn USA policy around completely.
There is no way a Fox-reader will understand the first sentence of this climate report. If we want voters for climate reform, we need a translation. We need to tell them: You'll drown you'll starve, and the other party will have more survivors than yours and lough at you. We need to explain how China is ahead, and will run so low on CO2 they'll start to burn USA flags. We need to explain how black trans woke woman will survive better than them, and start breeding by raping their doughters. In fact, this paragraph may be overshooting their understanding, even if it is completely bonkers and a mix of vague half truths.

Okay but we've already ascertained that the voters we are trying to reach are extremely media illiterate (otherwise they would see those problems with Fox News) and have opted into an information stream that explicitly leaves out nuance, details, information, anything that contradicts their opinions.
So I don't care what translation you think will magically convince these people, but how do you get them to hear it!?
Everyone desperately grasping at straws of how to improve things keep coming to the same problem: These people don't accept reality, and have chosen to only pay attention to content that meets their existing beliefs. They are doing the democratic equivalent of jamming their fingers in their ears and screaming LALALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU to reality.
This was even a problem for Fox News itself! They knew the dominion voting machine story was bullshit, so they didn't want to push it, but they were losing viewership to the god awful propaganda networks that DID push it! Voters will distrust Fox News before they distrust what they already want to believe.
Even the "moderates" and "centrists" are getting their view of Democrat talking points from the republicans, which is why they all think the Democrats want to hypertrans their babies despite actual democrat politicians running zero ads about that. That's why they think the Democrats are weak on border security despite the republicans voting down the border security bill.
