Seems to be no end to Erdoğan's reign in sight*. I happened to be in Türkiye at the time he called an early election in 2023. The outrage was discernible via the news (what I could make out, at least, not being fluent in Turkish). Any criticisms I could coax out of locals were done in hushed whispers, as it's illegal to speak ill of the government and Erdoğan's supporters are everywhere.
