Your claims about his background and connections are speculation. Being well connected or foreign born isn’t proof of wrongdoing.

While the U.S. is a constitutional republic, that doesn’t negate the democratic principles at its core. If he’s being targeted for his speech (which immigrants have a right to, under US law) then free speech is absolutely relevant here.



Free speech has nothing to do with Mahmoud Khalil. He can continue to exercise it while the State Dept noticed discrepancies in his green card filing and arrested him.


Whether Khalil’s arrest was retaliation for his speech is the very question his legal team is raising. You’re claiming it was about his green card, but there’s no evidence or official statement supporting that as far as I can find. The facts remain ambiguous at best, and the timing and circumstances make concerns about political retaliation entirely plausible.
