On HN a repost counts as a dupe when a story has had significant attention in the last year or so. But if a story hasn't had significant attention yet, reposts are ok.
More than a bit concerned that HN's sense is being taken advantage of by publications (and submitters) duplicating content, getting a bunch of upvotes (leading to split/dupe discussions later potentially), and devaluing original content and the HNers taking the time to submit sources.
