I remember listening to AM radio late one night in ~2002, maybe Art Bell or John Batchelor, and there was a guest talking about an experiment with, as I recall, mouse brain cells in a petri dish, with electrodes somehow connected to a flight simulator. The cells arranged themselves via some kind of feedback mechanism to takeoff and land a plane in the sim. I never bothered to check if this was some crackpot claim, or legitimate.
